The Böhringer See is a lake in the area of the municipality of Radolfzell on Lake Constance in the district of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg . It is located north of the Böhringen district , is around 5.5 hectares in size and up to 8 meters deep. It is a dead ice hole that arose from the remains of a glacier. The lake is used as a bathing lake. In the summer of 2019, as most recently in 2014 and 2011, a strict bathing ban had to be issued due to high water pollution by cyanobacteria ("blue-green algae").
