The Stock Exchange Bridge ( Russian Биржевой мост Birschewoi most , wiss. Transliteration Birževoj most ) is the bridge over the Kleine Neva (tributary of the Neva ) in Saint Petersburg , Russia . Its length is 239 meters and the width is 27 meters. The stock exchange bridge connects the eastern tip (Strelka) of Vasilyevsky Island with Petrograd Island . It takes its name from the famous old Petersburg Stock Exchange (Russian: Биржа Birscha ), the building of which is located on Vasilyevsky Island. The older wooden bridge from 1896 was replaced by a more modern construction in the middle of the 20th century.
