The Bübchen-Werk Ewald Hermes Pharmaceutical GmbH has produced a German company, the personal care products for infants, children and pregnant women. It has been based in Soest since 1967 .
history
In the 1940s, the druggist Ewald Hermes mixed fennel , anise , coriander , caraway and liquorice to make a calming tea against his son's flatulence . The good effect of the tea led him to sell the mixture as Bübchen tea in his drugstore.
The Bübchen-Werk Ewald Hermes Pharmazeutische Fabrik GmbH was founded on January 10, 1961 in Delecke / Möhnesee by Ewald Hermes. Production began with the manufacture of the Bübchen calming tea; care products for babies were added. The distribution took place at this time through drugstores and pharmacies .
Due to the demand for the baby care products from Bübchen, the production facility was moved from Delecke to Soest. After the company's founder's fatal traffic accident at the age of 46, the family business was continued by his wife. In 1983 Nestlé took over Bübchen. In 2019, Nestlé sold Bübchen together with the pharmaceutical manufacturer Galderma to investors. The Bübchen brand has been part of the Katjes Group since 2020.
Bübchen-Werk Ewald Hermes Pharmazeutische Fabrik GmbH later specialized in body care products for babies, children and pregnant women. The products are sold in retail and drug stores.
