Bernhard Kurz

Bernhard Kurz (* 1951 ) is a German music producer.

Life

Bernhard Kurz was born in Nürtingen near Stuttgart Baden-Württemberg .

He studied at the sports university in Cologne. After completing his studies, Kurz worked, among other things, as a youth worker and trainer for the athletes at VFB Stuttgart. He then headed trainer training at the Baden-Württemberg State Sports Association. He also worked as a federal fee trainer for track and field athletes and as a federal trainer for bobsleigh drivers.

Together with his brother, the musical producer Friedrich Kurz , he was involved in the success of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musicals in Germany in the 1980s as managing director and production manager . In 1986 Cats premiered in Hamburg, two years later the Starlight Express season began in Bochum, and in 1990 the Flora Theater in Hamburg was built for Das Phantom der Oper . This was followed by the musical Marlene and the production Shakespeare & Rock'n'Roll staged in the Musical Theater Berlin .

Since 1997 he has been producing the show Stars in Concert at the Estrel Festival Center in Berlin, where the doppelgangers of Madonna, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Tina Turner perform. Also about the Beatles ( All you need is love! ), ABBA ( Thank you for the music ), Elvis Presley ( Elvis - Die Show ), the Blues Brothers ( I'm a Soulman ) and the record label Motown Records ( Memories of Motown ) he has produced tribute shows.

He received Best Producer awards in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007 at the Artist Choice Awards in Las Vegas. In addition, Kurz received the Reel Award for Best Producer in Los Angeles in 2004 . In 2006, Kurz received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Las Vegas for his life's work. Bernhard Kurz has been European President of the International Association of Talent Agents and Producers since September 2008 .

From 2008, Kurz was president of the Seddiner See Golf and Country Club south of Berlin for four years .
