The Bücken & Sulzer Verlag is a primarily regionally oriented publisher that was founded in Overath in 2002 and is based in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

In 2002 the bookseller Alexander Bücken and the publisher and producer Fabian Sulzer started the publishing program with a re-edition of out of print titles about the Bergisches Land (including legends from the Bergisches Land). The stories of the “Bergische Trilogie” by Harry Böseke were among the first titles . Regional titles (including a history of the Bergisches Land) also included fiction (e.g. “Hot Chocolate” by Rachid O.), women's literature, and scientific titles (such as the three-volume study on the power of goodness by Martin Arnold ). In 2014 the publishing house started with three titles in a crime series. The publisher now has over 70 titles in its range (as of 2015). In 2005, the publisher Fabian Sulzer relocated to Witten , and since then the publisher has been based in Overath as well as in Witten.

Publishing structure

The two publishing house owners Alexander Bücken and Fabian Sulzer share the tasks: Alexander Bücken is responsible for sales, Fabian Sulzer for production and prepress. The publishers share marketing tasks.

Publishing program

The program of the Bücken & Sulzer Verlag includes regionalia, short stories, novels and volumes of poetry, crime novels, autobiographies as well as excursion guides, illustrated books, historical titles and hiking maps of Overath and the Bergisches Land. A few titles in the humanities and social sciences form a small segment.
