Bülent Eczacıbaşı

Bülent Eczacıbaşı (* 1949 in Istanbul , Turkey ) is the CEO of Eczacıbaşı Holding A.Ş., which operates in various fields such as pharmaceuticals, construction products and consumer goods.

Life

After graduating from the German High School in Istanbul, Bülent Eczacıbaşı continued his education at the Technical University of Berlin and then at the University of London and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a master's degree in chemical engineering.

Bülent Eczacıbaşı began his professional life in 1974 at Eczacıbaşı Holding and took on management positions in various companies in the holding.

1991–1993 he was chairman of the board of the Association of Turkish Entrepreneurs and Businessmen TÜSİAD , from 1997 to 2001 chairman of the TÜSIAD High Advisory Council, 1993–97 founding president of the Foundation for Economic and Social Studies TESEV and 2000–2008 chairman of the employers' association of the chemical industry.

Bülent Eczacıbaşı is still Chairman of the Board of Eczacıbaşı Holding, Honorary Chairman of TÜSIAD, Honorary Chairman of the Employers' Association of the Chemical Industry, Chairman of the Foundation Board of the Istanbul Foundation for Modern Art, which is responsible for the Istanbul Modern Museum for Contemporary Art, and a member of ERT - European Round Table of Industrialists. In addition, Eczacıbaşı is a member of the TESEV Advisory Board, the Advisory Board of Harvard Kennedy School and the international advisory board of Akbank .

Bülent Eczacıbaşı is married and has two children.
