Once a month, the citizens' initiative invites you to the "Friedensweg". They make their concerns clear on paths around and in the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide. In addition, members of the initiative regularly disobey civilians by entering the military compound. The initiative also participates in the organization of the annual "War start's here" camp in Parleib ( Gardelegen ), which has been taking place since 2011 .

Awards

In 2016 the initiative was awarded the Aachen Peace Prize. The laudator Georg Restle emphasized in his speech: “Initiatives like the 'Open Heath' are often ridiculed, considered naive, not taken seriously. But as small as these initiatives may be, they are just as important for this republic. Because they keep the spirit awake, which does not capitulate to a military logic that has created peace neither in Iraq, nor in Afghanistan, nor in Libya, nor in Syria. "
