It is located in the northern part of the old town on the west side of Bürgermeisterstraße in a corner at the confluence with Scharrenstraße. To the south, the building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Bürgermeisterstraße 3 .
Architecture and history
The three-storey residential and commercial building was built in 1904/05 by Hermann Leißling and Paul Friedrich on the site of the previously demolished Alte Wache. It is designed in the style of a historicizing Art Nouveau . The facade shows in particular style elements of the Neo-Renaissance such as volute gables . In addition, there are corner logies with Tuscan columns and profiled walls made of stone .
In the local register of monuments , the residential and commercial building is listed under registration number 094 35868 as a monument .
