B't X (pronounced like beat X ) is a manga series by the Japanese artist Masami Kurumada . The series was also known as anime - TV series and OVA implemented.
The plot revolves around Teppei trying to free his brother and modern combat robots called B'ts. The work can be classified into the genres of science fiction , mecha , action and adventure .
action
Teppei Takamiya lives as a farmer on the island of Kamui north of Japan. His older brother Kotarō Takamiya went to Germany to study robotics and became one of the best scientists in the world in this field. Five years later, they meet again at a robotics fair in China. But there Kotarō is kidnapped by soldiers from the Machine Empire. This has a base in the Gobi desert and boasts particularly modern robots, so-called B'ts. These combat robots, which can have different shapes, are supplied with energy via a so-called BreakHeart. This is operated with human blood, whereby the B't is bound to humans.
While pursuing the kidnappers, Teppei quickly meets the first B't and is defeated by him. He ends up injured in a dump in the Reich. When his blood brings the B't X back to life there, he wins a new ally. Both flee and soon try together to free Kotaro.

The manga by Masami Kurumada was published in 1994 in the magazine Shōnen Ace of the publishing house Kadokawa Shoten . He later appeared in 16 anthologies ( Tankōbon ).
The series was also published in English by Tokyopop , in French by Pika Édition and in Italian by Star Comics. It was published in Spanish by Grupo Editorial Vid and Otakuland. The manga was published in German by Planet Manga . The translation is by Tom Schnellbächer.
Anime
In 1996, a 25-piece became a Manga Anime - television series produced. Directed by Mamoru Hamatsu and the character design is by Hideyuki Motohashi. The mecha design was done by Hirotoshi Takaya. The series aired on Japanese television from April 6 to September 21, 1996. In 1997 and 1998, an OVA to the series with 14 episodes was released under the title B't X Neo , which was also produced by Kyokuchi-Tōkyo Movie.
The television series has been translated into English, Italian and French. The OVA was also published in English, the station Mangas broadcast the OVA in French. Magic Kids and TV Azteca broadcast the series and OVA in Spanish, ABS-CBN in Tagalog.
