history

The BAG WfbM was founded on June 18, 1975 in Bonn to represent the interests of workshops for disabled people throughout Germany. It has been based in Frankfurt am Main since 1985 . The association is the voluntary, nationwide association of all integration facilities of this type that aim to integrate severely disabled adults into work and society. It serves its members as an advisor and representative in all technical and political matters. The focus is on the participation of all those adults in work and society who, due to their disability, cannot, not yet or not yet secure their lives through gainful employment on the general labor market.

Currently, more than 310,000 adults with disabilities are employed in the member workshops of the BAG WfbM, around 30,000 for vocational training in the vocational training area, and around 263,000 people for their job and professional development in the so-called work area. Due to the high need for support, 17,000 people receive funding in support groups or in a special support area.
