The Federal Working Group of Senior Citizens' Organizations (own name: BAGSO - Federal Working Group of Senior Citizens' Organizations eV ) is the German umbrella association of senior citizens' organizations with its seat in Bonn . Around 120 associations and clubs that are supported by the elderly or that are committed to the interests of the elderly have come together in it. BAGSO represents the interests of the older generations towards society, politics and the economy. It works non-partisan and non-denominational. Franz Müntefering has been BAGSO's chairman since 2015 .
Goals and Positions
According to its own account, BAGSO advocates active, self-determined and healthy aging in social security. She advocates framework conditions that enable a good and dignified life in old age. In position papers and statements, it names the requirements for a better life in old age and gives impetus for political action in the federal, state and local governments. BAGSO advocates a differentiated image of old age, which includes the chances of a longer life as well as times of vulnerability and need for care.
