The BAT-M ( Russian БАТ-М ) is an extremely heavy bulldozer from Soviet production, which was mainly used in the military environment of the states of the Warsaw Pact . Depending on the structure, it is 10.0 m long, 4.78 m wide and, without a crane, 2.95 m high. The chassis is based on the heavy artillery tracked tractor and thus on the T-54 main battle tank . The basic version of the BAT-M weighs approx. 25 t. The shape of the shield can be adjusted during operation. The driver's cab was a widened version of the ZIS-150 truck .

The bulldozer was mainly used in pioneer troops to create paths, excavate positions and to decontaminate mined areas. It is equipped with a four-stroke diesel engine W-401 with 415 hp and reaches a maximum of 24 km / h. The blade can be used in plowing or leveling position, the BAT-M can move up to 450 m³ of soil per hour. It is optionally equipped with a crane with a load capacity of 2 t and has a cable winch with a pulling force of 250 kN. The tank holds 1115 l of diesel, the average consumption is approx. 21 l / h. In the transport position, the blade can be folded back over the cab.
