The BBÖ 2000.01 was a diesel-electric shunting - locomotive of BBÖ .

In 1937 the BBÖ only owned 21 electric and 70 “actual” steam shunting locomotives. Otherwise old steam locomotives were used for shunting. The BBÖ therefore procured a diesel-electric locomotive based on the Dutch model ( NS series 200 ). The locomotive was delivered in 1936 by the Floridsdorf locomotive factory , the diesel engine came from the Simmeringer machine and wagon factory , the electrical equipment from Siemens-Schuckert and the traction motors from ELIN .

The locomotive had a narrow driver's cab at the rear end, the roof of which protruded far. There were running boards around the locomotive, from which the essential operating elements were accessible. The coupling based on the Dutch model allowed coupling and uncoupling from the driver's cab.

There was no further order, which was due on the one hand to a lack of probation for Austrian conditions, but on the other hand also to the accompanying historical circumstances, since the Deutsche Reichsbahn classified the locomotive as V 15.001 in 1938, but stopped it in 1939. The vehicle was officially withdrawn from service in 1946.
