BBC Radio 1Xtra is a digital radio station of the British Broadcasting Corporation , which is specific to African-American music has specialized. The transmitter provides a sister project of BBC Radio 1 shows and was originally on 16 August 2002 under the name Project X founded.
The program mainly includes music programs that are primarily composed of the genres Dubstep , Hip-Hop , R&B , Reggae , Bhangra , Drum and Bass , Grime , Soca , Gospel and the like and can be received via digital radio or the Internet .
In 2013, 1Xtra was voted first in the UK Drum & Bass Awards in the Best Radio Station / Internet category .
