The BGŻ BNP Paribas Arena is a velodrome in the Polish city ​​of Pruszków ( Masovian Voivodeship ), a suburb of the capital Warsaw .

history

The arena opened in 2008 and is the first indoor cycling track in Poland. In the opening year, the European Rail Championships for juniors and U23 athletes were held there, the World Rail Championships in 2009 and the European Elite Rail Championships in 2010 . The first run of the Track Cycling World Cup 2017/18 is planned to be held in Pruszków in November 2017 . In 2019, the rail world championships are to take place in Pruszków for a second time.

The track itself is 250 meters long and made of Siberian spruce ; It was planned by the Münster architect Ralph Schürmann . There is space for 1,800 spectators in the stands. The Velodrome is owned by the Polish Cycling Association Polski Związek Kolarski .
