The BG / BRG / BORG Eisenstadt is a grammar school east of the center of the municipality of Eisenstadt in Burgenland .

history

On 14 May 1922, the establishment of an eight-year high school was (as the term of his name today of school gymnasium ) in the new capital of the newly established in January 1921 ninth State decided the Republic of Austria. It was the first state secondary school in the part of German West Hungary that came to Austria .

The school was initially housed in what is now the Martinkaserne building. The first day of school was November 6, 1922. In 1938 the school moved to the Theresianum . From 1945 it was housed in the rooms of the municipal secondary school.

The foundation stone for today's school building was laid on October 12, 1950, and the school has been located there since 1953. In 1987 an extension with 16 rooms was completed.

Educational offer

The lower level classes focus on music, sport or Croatian, while those in the upper level focus on art or science. In addition to the usual foreign languages, Croatian , Russian and Spanish are offered. There are school choirs, a school band and other artistic offers.
