BHZ (Abbreviation for Bananahaze ) is a German hip-hop / trap group from Berlin-Schöneberg .

The group consists of the seven members Longus Mongus , Ion Miles , Dead Dawg , Monk , BigPat , MotB and Sami . Her style is a cross between classic Berlin boom bap and modern trap elements.

history

BHZ first published their songs on SoundCloud and YouTube . Her first EP Bananashake was released on Spotify in spring 2017 , with further EPs such as Monk and Nova her popularity continued to grow.

In the summer of 2018 they released their first album 2826 , which was voted one of the best 10 hip-hop albums (national) of 2018 by JUICE magazine . Thematically, it deals with her home town Berlin-Schöneberg. On June 29, 2018, they released their most successful single "Bier" to date together with the East Frisian rap crew 102 Boyz .

BHZ performed at numerous festivals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2018 and 2019, including a. at the Openair Frauenfeld , Splash , Rock am Ring , Deichbrand , Kosmonaut Festival and the Donauinselfest Vienna. Her first own tour "2826" took her in 2018 through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In addition to working for BHZ, various band members have also released albums solo or as other projects. The first solo EP Monk came from Monk in January 2018 . After that, Big Pat's Nova EP was released in May 2018. Longus Mongus laid in January 2019 point clear after, in March 2019 then Ion Miles and Monk Game Over . June 2019 Dead Dawg joined with the album Dunklschwarz . After three video releases, the Schöneberg crew followed up with their second album 3062 in September 2019 . BHZ paid attention to a great diversity of different sub-genres of hip-hop (e.g. boom-bap, trap, lo-fi etc.). For their second tour, BHZ was awarded the HipHop Award 2019 in the category "Best Live Act National".
