BK Drott

Bollklubben Drott was a Swedish football club from Helsingborg . In the early days of the Swedish league system, the team played second-rate for several years.

BK Drott was founded in 1918. When the Swedish league system was introduced, the team initially played lower class. After she was promoted to the third division in 1928, succeeded as the season winner of Division 3 Sydsvenska with two points ahead of Lunds BK to move into the promotion round to the second division. There the Gothenburg club Landala IF was defeated and thus the march into the second class was accomplished. Here, too, the team played directly in the front area and took second place in Division 2 Södra in the first season, one point behind Malmö FF . In the following season, the club could not build on the success and played against relegation, with two points behind the relegation place occupied by IFK Kristianstad , however, succeeded in relegation. In the following season, as runner-up behind Halmstads BK , four points were missing to participate in the qualifying round for Allsvenskan . The slump followed again and this time the club had to relegate to the third division together with Lessebo GIF .

In the third division it was again for BK Drott against relegation, which took place in 1936. Between 1941 and 1947, the club played again in third class, until the team rose again after relegation in 1949. As fourth in the table, the club missed the return to the second division behind Lunds BK, Alets IK and Kalmar AIK . The direct slump followed again and BK Drott rose again in the following year. 1954 and 1963 managed to return to the third division for one season each. Then the team played with short interruptions always at the fourth league level, before after relegation to fifth division in 1976 the club said goodbye to the higher-class Swedish football.

In 1991 BK Drott entered into a cooperation with Helsingborgs Södra BIS and then dissolved. Under the name Kamratföreningen Gamla Drottare , an alumni association was established as early as 1979 , which promotes the exchange with former activists, leaders and supporters.
