Knightmare in Camelot Theme Park ( Chorley , Lancashire , UK ) was a steel roller coaster manufactured by Zierer Rides , which was originally opened in March 1987 in Kobe PortopiaLand, Japan, as the Bavarian Mountain Railroad . There it drove under this name until 1996 and was then renamed BMRX . For this purpose, it was also re-themed and provided with special effects . The track was closed on March 31, 2006 and finally reopened in July 2007 in the Camelot Theme Park.
The 793 m long route was 27 m high and the trains reached a top speed of 70 km / h. The maximum load was 5 g .
On September 2, 2012, the Camelot Theme Park was closed until further notice. Some of the roller coasters have been sold (including "Whirlwind" to Skyline Park ) and others are still in the park and are starting to rust. The Knightmare railway is expected to be scrapped in summer 2014.
Trains
Knightmare had five trains with seven cars each. Two people (one row) could sit in each car. Lap bars were used as a restraint system.
