The SV Berliner Breweries was a German sports club from Berlin . The club was in the tradition of the BSG Empor Nordost and the BSG Berlin breweries .

Football section

The SV Berliner Breweries was founded in 1949 under the name BSG Volkseigene Brauereien Berlin . In 1953, with the entry of the Empor sports association , the company sports association was renamed BSG Empor Nordost Berlin , and from 1963 then into BSG Berlin breweries .

On a sporting level, the Berlin brewery was consistently sub-class in East Berlin local football, and any participation in the Berlin City League or Berlin District League was not achieved until 1990. The top division was the fourth class district class Berlin . The greatest success of the Berliners was the qualification for the first main round of the FDGB Cup in the season 1949/50, which took place after the end of the league season. VE Breweries Berlin lost 2: 4 against Kjellberg Finsterwalde in the opening round.

In 1990 the association was renamed SV Berliner Brauereien , which was joined by VSG Alex 78 in 1997 . On July 1, 2016, the football section switched to the Berlin TSC , with which the brewers share the sports grounds on Paul-Heyse-Straße.
