BuiSy is the abbreviation for the B remer U ENVIRONMENT i nformation sy stem. It is a nationwide environmental information system of the public administration of the German state of Bremen . In addition to the information technology infrastructure, it also provides the technical and organizational framework for making current environmental data available to the public and supports the execution of state and municipal environmental tasks.

tasks

As a central instrument for environmental monitoring, environmental reporting and the fulfillment of environmental administrative tasks, the BUISY brings together data from different specialist areas. This includes ongoing measurement data from the monitoring of air and water quality, as well as reports, statistics and general information on environmental issues. While it was largely a voluntary service in the beginning, there has been an obligation to publish environmental data for a long time through various legal regulations such as the Environmental Information Act and the Aarhus Convention .

Information on water quality

A station in Bremen- Hemelingen displays measured values from the last 6 months for the conductivity , temperature , pH value and oxygen content of the Weser water . The data have also been available since 1979. Another station on the Weser in Farge is operated as part of the Weser river basin community (formerly ARGE Weser); these data are not presented in BUISY, but in connection with the water quality in the catchment area of the Weser.

Air quality information

Ozone meter, supplied data for the BUISY as early as the 1990s

The Bremen air monitoring system ( BLUES ) was set up in 1987 as part of the Smog Ordinance. Over time, the air quality in the state of Bremen was measured at more than 15 different locations. The measured values are usually displayed on a daily basis. The annual reports also provide an overview. Some data are also sent to the Federal Environment Agency , where they are used for a large-scale representation of air quality.

history

As part of a citizen information system that has been operated by Bremen since 1994, the aim arose to provide up-to-date important information promptly via the Internet. This particularly concerned the measured values for ozone in midsummer, information about frozen water in winter and the quality of bathing water .

In 1997 the project started for the BUISY as an information offer on the Internet. The development of the first system was largely carried out in cooperation with the TZI Bremen ( Technologie-Zentrum Informatik und Informationstechnik ). Information on air quality, as it was already available through the BLUES system, on water quality, on landscape and nature reserves , on soils and contaminated sites in Bremen, on climate and energy, on waste and on funding programs in the environmental sector was recorded. It was published in 1999. Over the years, the layout has been revised several times.

The content is maintained by specialist editors from the environmental authority of the state of Bremen using a content management system (CMS). Since November 2, 2015, the content has been given the new layout of the citizen service pages from www.bremen.de and the BUISY has been integrated into the website of the senatorial service. The name "BUISY" has not been used since then.
