The BV Opladen (officially: Ballspielverein Opladen 01 eV ) was a sports club from the Leverkusen district of Opladen . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine region.

history

The association was founded in 1901. In 1949 the team rose to the district class and immediately made it through to the state league , the highest amateur league on the Middle Rhine at the time. After only one season, the Opladener returned to the district class in 1951 . After several failed attempts to rise again, the team had to relegate to the district class in 1955. 1958 succeeded in promotion to the district class, where the Opladener immediately runner-up behind the SC Köln-Mülheim Nord .

In 1961 he finally returned to the national league. The Opladener held their own there until 1967 and returned to the national league three years later for one season. In 1981 BV Opladen merged with Fortuna Opladen to form Union Opladen .
