Baške Oštarije is a Croatian mountain village and part of the village of Brušane in the Lika-Senj County at an altitude of 924  m .

The name Oštarije is of Romanesque origin. The center of the village are the Hotel Velebno , which was renovated to a four-star hotel after being damaged by Serbian shell fire during the war (1991–1995), and the pilgrimage church of St. Elisabeth , which was restored with donations from Austrian believers. To the west of the village of Baške Oštarije, on the mountain saddle Oštarijska vrata, there is a stone cube (cube, Latin), a monument from 1847, which was erected here on the occasion of the completion of this important road across Velebit .

Not far from the village are the mountain passes Oštarijska vrata (928 m) and Baške Oštarije (955 m), the latter a mountain pass on the Gospić - Karlobag road , which is also the border between central and southern Velebit .
