Babutsa is a British band with Turkish-Cypriot roots. The group was named after Opuntia , an American cactus species that is also found in Cyprus . The band is made up of the three soloists Peri Aziz, Ali Sönmez and Soner Türsoy. Babutsa mainly sings traditional Turkish-Cypriot folk music . The group performed in Northern Cyprus , Great Britain , Australia , Turkey and Germany , among others .

- Ali Sönmez (* 1970 in London), of Turkish Cypriot descent.
- Soner Türsoy (* 1965 in Famagusta ), emigrated to London in 1981.
