Baby Dadamda is a song by the German pop singer , songwriter and music producer Peter Orloff . The piece is the second single from his second studio album Schlager-Autograph .
Creation and publication
The song was written jointly by the German-British hit and pop musician Chris Andrews and the German songwriter Georg Buschor. Production took place under the direction of Peter Orloff.
Baby Dadamda appeared on Orloff's second studio album Schlager-Autograph in 1969 and after Gold on the Street as the second single from the album in the same year. The single was first published as a 7 ″ single in Germany in October 1969 ( catalog : 3130). As a B-side , the single contains the song You are like a picture by Picasso . On the front cover of the single you can only see - in addition to the artist name and song title - Orloff, during a live performance. The back of the cover contains an advertising campaign for the best-of album Monika - Peter Orloff sings his hits . The single was pressed on behalf of Carl Lindström GmbH . Baby Dadamda was published under the German music label Cornet and published by Glissando Music or Warner / Chappell Music and Neue Welt Musikverlag.
ZDF hit parade
To promote the song, there were two live appearances in the ZDF music show ZDF hit parade at the beginning of 1970. In the January issue of January 24, 1970 (episode 9) Orloff appeared as the seventh new performance. In the tenth episode on February 21, 1970, he was then placed in fifth position. Until then, viewers were allowed to choose their favorites by postcard. This changed in favor of Baby Dadamda after a manipulation attempt . For Orloff, 11,037 cards with the same handwriting and postmark were sent. Orloff protested his innocence. Nevertheless, the title was disqualified and Orloff was temporarily excluded from the show. From then on, viewers had to request voting cards from ZDF in order to vote for their favorites. After it was initially assumed that Orloff was involved in this manipulation attempt, his competitor Ray Miller later came under suspicion of having manipulated the cards himself in order to get Orloff out of the way. Miller appeared at the same time as Orloff with the title Caroline as a new introduction. However, Miller placed in the February issue two places better than Orloff in third place and topped this in sequence eleven from March 21, 1970, where he occupied the top position with Caroline .
content
The lyrics to Baby Dadamda are written in German. The music was composed by Chris Andrews and the text was written by Andrews together with Georg Buschor. Buschor only acted as a sub-copywriter . Andrews already wrote an English text entitled Get It to Me , which he and Buschor revised and translated. The original is also registered with GEMA under the titles Love Me Baby, Love Me Baby Dadamda and La La La, Love Me . Musically, the song moves in the area of hit music . The peculiarity of the piece is that it has no real refrain. It begins with a chorus-like introduction, followed by a stanza, at the end of which there is another kind of refrain. The process is repeated with the same text. The stanza was written as a pair of rhymes .
“Your love, my dear Dadamda.
Without worries, today and tomorrow Dadamda.
But your legs, little dadamda.
They belong to me alone Dadamda. "
