Baby massage
The baby massage or children's massage originally comes from India and is included in Ayurveda there under the name Kumara Abhyanga . It was picked up by the French Frédérick Leboyer , the founder of the “ gentle birth ”, in the 1970s and introduced in Europe, which is why it is often called Leboyer massage here . Baby massages are also known in Russia and Africa as well as allegedly among the Eskimos .
According to its followers, the baby massage contributes to relaxation and the development of sensibility, but also helps against flatulence and restlessness. The target group is primarily infants between the ages of four and six weeks and six months, but also toddlers up to the age of around two years.
