The baby shower is originally an American tradition and is called the baby shower there, but it is also becoming more widespread in Central Europe. If men are also invited, they compete against each other in two-man competitions in order to put paper diapers on dolls as quickly as possible or to empty baby bottles that are filled with milk as quickly as possible.
When choosing the games, either the imagination of the hostess is required or she can seek advice from an agency specializing in this custom. In these games, those present can prove their motherhood, while the mother-to-be watches the goings-on and is allowed to have fun. As a farewell, the guests often receive a small gift such as almonds with icing in blue or pink.
