Backdrop Ridge (loosely translated setting back ) is an east-west running mountain ridge in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises north of The Stage basin on the northern flank of the Renegar Glacier on the Scott Coast . Connections exist to the northern ends of the West , Central and East Aisle Ridge ridges .
A team from the New Zealand Geological Survey , headed by geologist David Norman Bryant Skinner (* 1938), who worked in this area between 1977 and 1978, named the mountain ridge The Stage due to its geographical location in relation to the basin.
