The Backes is a bakery in Wülscheid , a district of the Aegidienberg district of the city of Bad Honnef in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is a listed building as a monument .

location

The bakery is located on Wülscheider Strasse , the local thoroughfare, in the lower area of ​​the Wülscheider Oberdorf at about 255  m above sea level. NHN .

history

The baking house, including a Königswinter oven , was built at the end of the 19th century and was an annex to a residential building with a stable. In the first half of the 20th century, stoves and a smoke chamber were added. After a change of ownership around 1992, the baking equipment was (re) discovered in 1997 and recognized as historical evidence. As a result, the bakery was entered on October 14, 1997 in the list of monuments of the city of Bad Honnef. A two-year renovation followed, and the oven was able to be put back into operation for the first time in the summer of 1999.

building

The single-storey bakehouse is a saddle-roofed half - timbered house in post construction . It has a jamb floor . The half-timbered threshold is supported by a rubble foundation . The cooking areas and smoke chamber are made of pumice stone . Some of the building materials come from a second use.
