The bathing lake Weißlahn is an artificially created lake in the district Weißlahn of the municipality of Terfens in the Tyrolean Lower Inn Valley .

description

The lake is located immediately north of the Kufstein – Innsbruck railway line . With increasing width it extends in a west-east direction over about 250 meters. In the eastern part a small island lined with trees protrudes from the lake. To the northeast of the lake is a pond, to which the lake is connected by a pipe. Towards the east, this pond turns into a wetland area, which is inhabited by grass snakes, among other places . In the vicinity of the lake there are several leisure facilities such as sunbathing areas that are subject to charges in summer, a kiosk, tennis and beach volleyball courts and restaurants.

Water quality

The lake is located in an intensively agricultural area. This results in a high nutrient content, the growth of floating algae and a relatively small depth of vision of up to a maximum of two meters. Since 1997 the water quality has been graded between “acceptable” and “good”.
