Badhamiopsis is a genus of slime molds of the Myxogastria . It is of three types.
features
The fruiting bodies are sessile, generally flattened plasmodiocarp . The capillitium consists of simple, occasionally forked, thorn-like depressions, which are usually filled with lime grains and are connected at the base of the fruiting body by short, slender, lime-free threads. However, there is no network of threads.
distribution
The genus is known from Japan, the USA and Turkey, among others.
Systematics
The genus was first described in 1976 by Travis E. Brooks and Harold W. Keller . The type species is Badhamiopsis ainoae, originally first described as Badhamia ainoae . After a few new descriptions, it now comprises three types:
