Bagrat Genrikowitsch Burnasjan

Bagrat Genrikowitsch Burnasjan ( Russian Баграт Генрикович Бурназян * 17th July 1957 in Yerevan ) is a former Russian table tennis players with Armenian origin. He had his best time in the 1970s when he reached the quarter-finals in doubles at a European Championship and won bronze with the team.

Career

Bagrat Burnasjan already achieved several international successes in his youth, eight times he was European youth champion. In 1971, 1972, 1974 and 1975 he was European champion in individual. In 1974 he also won the mixed title with Elmira Antonyan , in 1971, 1972 and 1975 he was involved in the gold medal in the team competition.

From 1973 to 1981 he took part in all five world championships . He finished fourth with the Russian team in 1973 . At the European Championships in 1976 he won bronze in the team competition, in doubles he reached the quarterfinals.

In 1997 he was ranked number one in the national Russian rankings.
