Bahn Extra is a German magazine on the subject of railways with a bimonthly print run of almost 15,000 copies. The editor in charge is Thomas Hanna-Daoud.

The magazine was first published in 1990 by GeraMond Verlag , a specialist publisher originally founded for publications on everything to do with rail vehicles. After one of the company's founders, Rolf Wesemann, who had also started EK-Verlag in Freiburg , left, Bahn Extra was published by GeraNova magazine publisher between 1991 and 2004. GeraMond also belonged to this company as a publishing brand for specialist publications. From July 2006 the situation changed again. At that time the GeraNova magazine publisher changed its name to GeraMond Verlag.

content

The magazine focuses on past epochs of German railway history, different railway regions, locomotive technology and current travel tips for railway fans.

Each issue is dedicated to a specific topic. The Bahn-Jahrbuch is published at the beginning of the year, offering an overview of the past year and an outlook on the new.
