The Bergholz (b Potsdam) station was a 1957 Turmbahnhof scale interchange on Berlin outer ring , south of Potsdam. From an operational point of view, the facility was a stopping point despite its structure .

It was built in 1956 at the intersection of the Berlin – Blankenheim railway line (km 24.3) with the outer ring (km 10.9) and ensured a transfer option for travelers from Michendorf , Wilhelmshorst , Rehbrücke and Potsdam-Drewitz (now Potsdam Media City Babelsberg ) trains called Sputnik mainly to East Berlin . A pedestrian bridge enabled the transition between the upper side platforms on the outer ring and the lower side platforms on the Wetzlarer Bahn.

With the reopening of the Berlin Stadtbahn , the transfer point lost its importance, as a direct connection from Potsdam to Berlin was now possible. Secluded in the forest, a few kilometers from the nearest settlement, the function of local access to regional traffic was also omitted, which is why the station was closed on May 23, 1998. Until the end, the station was only accessible to road vehicles via a forest service road. The regional train line 22 resulting from the Sputnik then used another route via Saarmund – Michendorf and the Jüterbog – Nauen line . Since December 2011 it has been running again without stopping on the upper tracks of the former Bergholz stop (near Potsdam) .

A restart of the station and the platforms was examined in 2011 in order to link the lines RB 22, RB 33 and RE 7 and thus enable a transfer from Beelitz, Michendorf, Wannsee and Bad Belzig in the direction of Schönefeld (SXF / BER).

Not far from the station there is a connecting curve between the two railway lines, which is now used exclusively by freight trains. It begins north of the Wilhelmshorst stop on the Berlin – Blankenheim railway line (km 25.1) and joins the Berlin outer ring east of the former Nesselgrund site (at km 9.9).
