Berlin-Rudow train station

The Rudow station , later Bahnhof Berlin-Rudow is a former passenger and freight station in Berlin district of Rudow .

On September 27, 1900, the train station was Rixdorf-Mittenwalder railway as part of the then newly built track Rixdorf - Mittenwalde opened.

During the Berlin blockade in 1948, the route at the city limits was interrupted, making Rudow station the terminus for freight traffic.

Passenger traffic drove to the Rudow Süd stop. This was later called the city ​​limits . Another stop for passenger traffic was Rudow West, to the north of Rudow train station. Today's Rudow Nord operations center is roughly in its place.

Passenger traffic on the line ceased on May 1, 1955, freight traffic in 1982. After that, the line in the area of ​​the station was dismantled.

The station was on Bahnhofsstraße (today: Groß-Ziethener Chaussee) at the corner of Klein-Ziethener Weg (today: Rhodeländerweg). The station building is still there and is used as a hardware store.

Today's central passenger station in Rudow , the Rudow underground station , was opened in 1972 and is 500 meters away.
