The station Buffalo-Depew , including Buffalo, NY (Depew) (abbreviated: BUF ) is a personal and operational station in Depew in US -Bundesstaat New York. It is located about 12.6 kilometers east of Buffalo on the Empire Corridor , the New York City - Albany - Buffalo rail link . The station is served by a total of eight Amtrak passenger trains daily, which run to Chicago , Toronto , Boston and New York. The passenger volume is almost 100,000 travelers per year.
The station has two continuous central tracks and two external overtaking tracks, of which only the southern one has a platform. A contemporary, simple one-story low-rise building serves as the reception building. In 1979, the station replaced the Buffalo Central Terminal 8.7 km further west, which had become too big and too expensive in view of the reduced passenger volume. In contrast to Buffalo's inner-city Exchange Street station , Depew is not only served by the trains to Toronto and New York City, but also from Chicago and Boston. This results in the situation that the suburb of Depew has more train connections than Buffalo itself. The number of passengers is also four times higher than on Exchange Street.
