The station in 1910

The Calvörde train station is a former train station in Calvörde . The listed station building is still preserved today.

Station building

1907 built reception building of the train station in Calvörde is an urban dominant building with former waiting room and living rooms above. The mighty structure is structured with a central projectile, has characteristic pitched roofs and wooden paneling on the upper floor. The outer walls are characterized by a rich variety of materials (house stone plinth, clinker brick and wood). The amalgamation of Heimatstil elements is remarkable.

This station building is of technical historical importance and its appearance is a unique building in the Börde district. When the route from Wegenstedt to Calvörde was fully operational around 1909, there was a waiting room as well as a restaurant in the station and a ticket office.

After the final shutdown on September 24, 1966, the building was used as a residential building and as a kindergarten . Today the Calvörder Hort is located in the listed station building.
