history
The station was officially opened to traffic on January 3, 1867 and was initially the southern terminus of the Messina – Syracuse railway line . A further construction of the line by the company Società Vittorio Emanuele took place two years later in the year 1869. The track systems were extensively expanded and extended in the port.
