The Dissen-Bad Rothenfelde station is located in the Erpen district in the area of the city of Dissen aTW in the Osnabrück district . It is the train station for Dissen and the neighboring spa town of Bad Rothenfelde on the “Haller Willem” railway line, which opened in 1886, from Osnabrück to Dissen-Bad Rothenfelde to Halle (W.) On June 2, 1984, passenger traffic between Osnabrück and Dissen-Bad Rothenfelde was discontinued, so the station was now the end of the trains from Bielefeld. On June 1, 1991, freight traffic on this section was also stopped. Deutsche Bahn wanted to shut down the line northwest of Dissen-Bad Rothenfelde. This was prevented by the citizens' initiative “Initiative Haller Willem”.
As a result, the section was renovated. All side tracks were removed, only the through track remained. On June 12, 2005, regular passenger traffic was resumed.
Nowadays, more than 800 travelers use the station every day (as of 2011/2012). Regional trains of the NordWestBahn run every hour between Osnabrück and Bielefeld. At the station forecourt there are bus connections to Bad Rothenfelde and Dissen from the Osnabrück Transport Association .
