The Dutenhofen station (officially: Dutenhofen (Kr Wetzlar)) is a separation station in the Hessian city of Wetzlar , district of Dutenhofen . It is the second, much smaller station in the city next to Wetzlar station and is located north of the district, in close proximity to the B 49 .
location
The road to Dutenhofener See crosses the railway line within the station, which is why there is a level crossing to the east of the platforms . To the east, the Dill line to Gießen and the freight tracks that bypass Gießen and flow into the Main-Weser Railway at Gießen-Bergwald station separate .
Furnishing
The station has two platform tracks on a central platform . Between the direction tracks there is a passing track to the west of the platform. Facilities for local freight traffic are no longer available. The former station building stands south of the tracks. A small relay interlocking, which has been used to control the station since 1962, is housed in a porch .
traffic
The train station is the train stop for the Mittelhessen-Express (Dillenburg– Frankfurt am Main ; RB 40) and for the regional train on the Lahntalbahn (Fulda - Alsfeld - Gießen - Limburg; RB 45). In the morning rush hour and in the late evening, a Main-Sieg-Express (Frankfurt / M. - Gießen - Siegen; RE 99) of the HLB stops at the station. (As of 2019)
For timetable change 2011/2012 11 December 2011 Dutenhofen was to improve support for the regional trains on the Lahn Valley Railway to the rail service. Previously, the Lahntalbahn trains ran through the station without stopping. Since then, it has no longer been operated by Deutsche Bahn , but by the Hessische Landesbahn , which has taken over the RB services between Gießen and Limburg (Lahn) (RB 45).
Since the 2014/2015 timetable change on December 14, 2014, it has been possible to take the supraregional city bus line 11, which connects the cities of Wetzlar and Gießen, to Dutenhofen station in order to get on regional trains in the direction of Gießen or Wetzlar. This offer is increasingly used by commuters.
Since the 2016/2017 timetable change on December 11, 2016, the trains of the former line RB 25 (Limburg (Lahn) –Gießen) and the subsequent former RB 35 (Gießen – Fulda) have been running continuously as the RB 45. In addition, they now run daily again later train in both directions. The trains of the Mittelhessen-Express now run as the RB 40.
future
It is planned to replace the current central platform with two 76 centimeter high outer platforms. Passengers should be able to reach them from the level crossing via new access roads. The start of construction originally planned for 2018 has been postponed to 2021. In addition, the unpaved area west of the station building is to be turned into a Park & Ride car park .
