The Jühnde Station is a depot of the Hanover-Würzburg high-speed railway . It is located southeast of the Lower Saxony municipality of Jühnde and therefore bears his name.

location

The depot is located at the apex of the new Göttingen - Kassel section at an altitude of around 280  m above sea level. NN . From here the route drops south to the Hedemünden Werra valley bridge by around 96 meters in altitude. To the southwest, the Mackenrodttunnel follows the train station . The Endelskamp tunnel follows to the northeast . The Göttingen train station ( 148  m above sea  level ), about 13 km away, is about 130 m lower.

The four-track station is made up of the continuous main tracks and two overtaking tracks. In the north and south head of the station, track changes with four switches each connect the two main tracks. In addition, a point assembly area was set up at the station.

In the northern area of the station, the Mühlengraben river and a farm road cross under the station. In the southern area, the station is up to the pre-cut of the Mackenrodt tunnel on a dam up to 14 m high.

history

The requirements for an overtaking station - above-ground location and maximum longitudinal inclination of 1.5 per thousand - made the current location the only one in the section between Kassel and Göttingen to be considered.

In the planning and construction phase, the station was located in the 3,935 m long plan approval section 4.3 (Jühnde / Barlissen ).
