The station Magnor is the station in the Tatort Magnor on the Kongsvingerbane . It is located in the municipality of Eidskog in Innlandet at an altitude of 132  moh. Until 1985 Magnor was the last passenger station before the Swedish border on the Norwegian side.

history

The Magnor station was opened on November 4, 1865 under the name Rastad for the handling of trains, travelers and goods as part of the Grensebane , today's Kongsvingerbane. The station was given its current name in 1867, after briefly existing under the name Magnord from 1866 .

In October 1953 the railway station tracks were equipped with a signal system. In April 1967, the station was converted into a remote-controlled station, where travelers and goods were still handled. The stopping of persons was discontinued on January 1, 1985, from January 1, 1986 the staff was only responsible for goods traffic. The station has had the status of a remote-controlled junction station since 1996.

building

The expedition building was built in the Swiss style in 1865 based on drawings by the architect Georg Andreas Bull . The design is based on the plans for the first expedition building at Hokksund station on the Randsfjordbane , which was also designed by Bull, but burned down in 1895.
