The station amounts is a place of business on the railway line Ulm-Sigmaringen . The railway branches in the direction of Radolfzell . The train station is in the municipality of Mengen . It was put into operation in 1873 and after the opening of the railway line to Radolfzell in the same year it became a branch station.

After passenger traffic between Mengen and Krauchenwies had been discontinued in 1954, the line to Radolfzell on this section was closed in 1960, and the station became a through station. In 1986, the line to Krauchenwies was rebuilt and put into operation as a station track. Since 1989 it has been used again as a branch line and since then, Mengen station has been a branch station again. The route remained without passenger traffic.

Investments

Quantities station has two signal boxes. As in Fridingen and Hausen im Tal , these are mechanical signal boxes of the standard design. The switches , the entry and exit signals as well as the barriers are set and operated by the two interlockings via wire pulls. The command signal box (signal box 1) is located at the eastern end of the station and signal box 2 is at the western end of the station. The two signal boxes are 790 meters apart.

The station has four tracks and a few sidings . There are two tracks for passenger traffic, of which track 1 is on the house platform. Tracks 3 and 4 are reserved for freight traffic.

In the 2019 timetable, regional express trains on the Ulm – Donaueschingen connection stop every hour and IRE trains on the Stuttgart – Aulendorf connection every two hours, plus the Sigmaringen – Memmingen regional trains every two hours.
