The Mottgers train station (operating point Mottgers ) is an overtaking station on the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg . It is located in the Mottgers district of the Hessian community of Sinntal and therefore bears his name.
The boundaries of the station ( entry signals ) are at the route kilometers 264.853 and 267.461. The railway system includes 8 entry and exit signals and 16 points .
Location and course
The 2314 m long complex is roughly equal proportions in an up to 52 m deep incision and on a up to around 23 m high dam . In addition to the two continuous main tracks , the station has two overtaking tracks.
The route lies in the station area in a continuous straight line. In the station area, the gradient drops continuously to the south at 1.5 per mil.
The Schwarzenfelstunnel connects to the north and the Sinntalbrücke Zeitlofs to the south . The state border between Hesse and Bavaria also runs in the southern area of the station .
The permissible speed on the continuous main tracks is 280 km / h.

In the planning and construction phase, the structure was in construction kilometers 249 and 251. According to other information, the construction ended in construction kilometers 250,300, northwest of Zeitlofs .

The ICE world record run on May 1, 1988 ended at Mottgers station. Regular operations began at the end of May 1988.
