The Roßwein station is an operating point of the Borsdorf – Coswig railway and of the Roßwein – Niederwiesa railway line that used to branch off here in the municipality of Roßwein in Saxony .
history
The Roßwein station was opened on October 25, 1868 with the opening of the Borsdorf – Coswig railway line . Since 1869 the station was connected to the south by the Roßwein – Niederwiesa railway line .
In 1998 passenger traffic on the Hainichen – Roßwein line was discontinued. From 2005 the line was dismantled.
Until 2015, Roßwein was connected to Leipzig and Meißen by the RB110 line every two hours . In 2015 this line between Meißen and Döbeln was discontinued and replaced by buses. Since then, as planned, no passenger trains have stopped in Roßwein.
In 2019, with the exception of three through tracks, all other tracks were dismantled or no longer passable. There is a house platform and a central platform between tracks 2 and 3. The exit signals on the west side are on a signal bridge.
The reception building consists of two two-storey gable-end components that are connected by a single-storey eaves structure. All parts of the building are plastered. On the platform side there is a platform roof made of wood. The reception building is entered together with the goods shed in the list of cultural monuments in Saxony under the number 09205642. It is privately owned and has been renovated since 2017.
