The Roodeschool Station is a railway station in the Dutch city Roodeschool in the province of Groningen .

history

The station is on the Sauwerd – Roodeschool railway line , which was opened in 1893 by the Groningen Locaalspoorweg-Maatschappij .

When the station opened, there was a real station building. But this was demolished in 1973 and replaced by a simple house.

In order to be able to continue the railway line to Eemshaven , the Roodeschool station had to be relocated.

On January 8, 2018, the new platform on the western edge of the town was put into operation for passenger traffic. The official inauguration took place on January 15th by the municipality of Eemsmond .
