The Schaan-Vaduz station is the common stop the Liechtenstein communities Schaan and Vaduz . It is located in Schaan on the single- track Feldkirch – Buchs line operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) .
The station was opened in 1872 by the Vorarlberger Bahn and was later an express train stop on the Vienna – Paris connection. In addition to the importance of the train station as a connection point with the Liechtenstein bus network, an S-Bahn system is planned to link Feldkirch , Liechtenstein, Buchs , Sargans and Chur every 30 minutes.
As part of an infrastructure contract of the Austrian Federal Railways, it was decided in March 2011 to modernize some train stations and stops in Liechtenstein, including the Schaan-Vaduz train station. Among other things, higher platforms are being built for stepless access to the trains.
