The Winterthur Wülflingen railway station is a Winterthur train station in the city district of Wülflingen . The train station, consisting of a station building and a goods shed, is a typical train station from the turn of the century and a monument of regional importance in the canton of Zurich.

history

The railway line as well as the station were originally built away from the village and mainly served the freight transport with the spinning mill. Therefore, a simple wooden building was built in 1875. This was ready for occupancy when the Winterthur – Koblenz railway line opened and was in the form of a goods shed with an integrated station office. Due to the industrialization and the resulting growing resident population, the settlement reached the station, and a real station building became necessary. That is why the current station building was built in 1908, which at the time was advertised in Wülflingen exaggeratedly with a direct rail link “Wülflingen – Paris”.

The original building, located west of the station building from 1908, has been preserved to this day as a goods shed. There used to be a continuous connection on the railway line from Winterthur to Basel . Today, however, the station is only served by one line of the Zurich S-Bahn . The station itself is now unserved. A restaurant is located in the station building. Opposite the train station is the Niederfeld industrial zone , which is connected to the railway line by tracks.
