Joan Olivé
Joan Olivé Marquez (born November 22, 1984 in Tarragona , Catalonia ) is a Spanish motorcycle racer .
Career
Joan Olivé won the 125cc Spanish Championship title on Aprilia at the age of 15 in 2000 . He was then committed for the 2001 season by the Spanish Telefonica MoviStar Junior Team of ex-Grand Prix driver Alberto Puig for the eight-liter class of the motorcycle world championship , where he competed alongside compatriot Dani Pedrosa on a Honda . Olivé finished his first season without a podium in 19th place. In 2002 he reached his first podium place with a third place at the Dutch TT in Assen and finished in twelfth place. After that, he drove two seasons on Aprilia in the 250 cc class, but never made it onto the podium and reached positions twelve and 19th in the World Championship.
For the 2005 season, Joan Olivé switched back to the 125 cc class in the Nocable.It Race team , where he competed on Aprilia alongside Marco Simoncelli . He was able to achieve the last podium at the Italian Grand Prix and finished the season in 14th place. In 2006 Olivé stayed without a podium, but was able to improve to tenth place in the overall standings. With two second places in Turkey and Australia as well as eighth place overall, he made further progress in 2007 .
In 2008 , Olivé drove his first year on a Derbi in the works team alongside Pol Espargaró . It was to be his most successful season to date, with second places in Qatar , Portugal and the Netherlands as well as third place at the Czech Grand Prix and seventh championship rank . In the 2009 season Olivé reached the podium only once for Derbi with third place in Germany and ended the season in ninth place.
For the 2010 season, Joan Olivé moved to the Jack & Jones by A. Banderas of the actor Antonio Banderas in the newly created Moto2 class. He will be competing there alongside the American Kenny Noyes .
