The station church in Zurich main station is an ecumenical institution with interfaith hospitality. It was inaugurated in June 2001 as the first station church in Switzerland .

The Bahnhofkirche is a chapel on the B level of Zurich Central Station. It is equipped with around 20 seats. The area of ​​the church includes other rooms, for example for discussions.

The aim of the station church is to offer people space and time for prayer and conversation in the anonymity of the station.

The Bahnhofkirche sees itself as interreligiously hospitable and therefore provides not only the Bible in various languages ​​but also the holy scriptures of other religions and a prayer rug for Muslims . The station church is visited by 300 to 500 people every day. 40 percent of them are men. There are five Christian devotions every day on weekdays and one on Saturdays and public holidays.

In the rooms of the station church there is the possibility of pastoral talks during opening hours . They can be used anonymously and free of charge without registration. Five to ten people contact us every day.

The Bahnhofkirche is a joint institution of the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Zurich and the Roman Catholic Church of the Canton of Zurich , the Association of the City of Zurich Evangelical Reformed Parishes and the Association of the Roman Catholic Parishes of the City of Zurich . It has an annual budget of around 500,000 Swiss francs .
